Taking NFTs(and DAOs Further): How can it be done?

What about lifting talented, yet unknown artists and writers out of obscurity?

There’s something missing in the crypto space today, despite all the wild, revolutionary innovation. We’ve got coins beyond Bitcoin, we’ve got banks on the blockchain, we’ve got DAOs, and yet fortune still seems to largely favor the early and the already connected.

What do I mean by this?

Scores of talented creatives are still being marginalized as those who already have the know-how and wide networks in the space continue to profit from new DAOs and other ventures. This is not to knock on those who are succeeding but to say that based on the driving vision for crypto itself, we can do better. We focus more on raising entire communities up through the vision of our DAOs, for example.

Consider, DinoMonks, which is an NFT-community(with the goal of being so much more), that I just joined. Most NFT-communities, which largely all fit the definition of being DAOs, aspire to grow the collective value of their organization above all. While this isn’t a bad aim, why not reach further?

Why not aim for a greater goal beyond profit?

Consider the entire DeFi/NFT space right now? What isn’t being done? It’s not easy to answer that question, but yesterday, when I stumbled upon DinoMonks, I felt that I’d found the answer. On the surface, it’s a community which you can join by minting its’ respective NFT. Digging deeper, however, a truly interesting vision that no one else in crypto is currently tackling comes to light.

Imagine a supportive community in which Crypto/Metaverse natives raise each other up and grow their collective wellness as a group. That could take shape in a lot of different ways including the sharing of nutrition plans, workout regimens, and collective meditation. DinoMonks is already laying the ground work for this and much, much more.

Picture what a community with support as its driving value can do. Members’ creative pursuits could be showcased in a weekly newsletter that once all of the DinoMonks NFTs are minted, could easily reached hundreds of thousands of people are more. Community businesses could be built that prioritize work-life balance, yet the same rigorous work ethic that has grown crypto into what it is today.

This is an untapped market.

Think of such a venture as DAOs 3.0, fully in line with the Web 3 vision of raising up all creatives and helping them succeed beyond parasitic middlemen and together with a helpful, encouraging group of peers.

It’s early, but the sky’s the limit and isn’t succeeding together better than having Wall-Street-like cabals win out far above the rest? Communities like DinoMonks could set all kinds of values right, such as carry forward royalties, the bootstrapping of creative ventures by unknown artists and writers, and so much more.

I‘ve decided to get behind that kind of energy.

Looking Ahead: What’s Next?

I’m currently a member of DinoMonks and I aim to see this journey through and see where it leads. If you vibe with the vision above and want to explore it more, please do reach out! With regards to my DAO-specific content, this is only the beginning. I take every research path as a living, never ending process.

That being said, with everything that I do, I aim to spark further, deeper conversations and simply help to educate the world about the power of this little, yet powerful place many of us have now called home for years. Now, I’m moving to an even shorter format for some of my work because, honestly, we live in an age where no one has time for anything.

For now, I’ll leave you with this question: how do you feel about DAOs now? Do you think they need to prioritize different values? As always, feel free to contact me with your answer and more via Twitter or Discord@AriastheRaven#0117 and stay tuned for next time!

Finally, most of my free time is now being taken up with my newsletter, which is completely free and focused on how the rise of the Metaverse improves things for everyone.
