What’s Next for Crypto: A Crypto Renaissance Epicenter

Crypto needs a dedicated physical space for the community to get together, build, and at least temporarily, do away with tribalism.

The innovation of the Metaverse rages on and yet, crypto doesn’t have a dedicated, physical space. We may all be playing “The Great Online Game,” but why does that have to stop when our computers turn off?

Bitcoin, Ether, DeFi, DAOs, and so much more.

The online world is becoming an open field for people to rise above their current social status and make something more of themselves, just as the crypto pioneers envisioned.

Still, to me, we’re missing one key element to push the current DeFi wave even further forward.

We need a Florence.

Why Florence?: Kickstarting a True Crypto Renaissance

All sorts of revolutionary opportunities exist for crypto enthusiasts online.

Spending even one hour on Crypto Twitter and following the top crypto hashtags will show you some of them, though it’s important to be careful since a lot of scammers still exist, aiming to shill their own holdings at the expense of others. To me, an even better way to find the truly interesting, reliable crypto opportunities is to attend industry events. Over the past year, I’ve attended several of the top conferences, despite COVID-19 and I’ve never learned about so many different crypto ventures than through the conversations I’ve had there.

Even so, the industry still exists in pockets or, as is commonly said on Crypto Twitter, “tribes.” Now, don’t get me wrong, tribes aren’t inherently a bad thing. Take Bitcoin, for example. Many of its’ earliest supporters are a big part of why it persists on their own and despite the fact that some of them disregard any project that isn’t Bitcoin, they also still champion the crypto vision of “something better, something for everyone.”

Almost every crypto community is the same in that they discount some projects from the get-go, simply because they’re something different.

The fact is if we keep doing that, we’ll keep being small.

Yes, tribes will and should always exist, but they shouldn’t have the outsized influence on a space’s growth that they have now. Instead, in my view, interoperability should reign, both on a technical level and on a community level.

For now, let’s focus on that second aspect.

What if there were a crypto-focused community that people could fly to and know they’d be able to spend time in, next to like-minded builders with the same vision for the world? Would we then continue to be as fragmented both in our tribes and by physical distance as we are now?

Florence was the epicenter of the Renaissance.

Imagine if crypto had a place like that.

I’m currently acting as a freelance consultant for a project that’s trying to make that happen.

Without spoiling too much, think of a tangible location with three-key elements.

A co-working community, a resort, and a true, full-time crypto place where people owning the land could live full time.

Can you see something like that in your mind’s eye?

News on the project is coming and whatever happens with it, I personally aim to do my part to help it succeed. If you’re wondering why, it’s simple.

The world needs a “crypto land.”

It’s past time for one.

What’s Next?

I hope this post has you thinking about how you might fit into such an effort and what you think the ideal first true crypto community outside of the Metaverse should be like. I apologize for the vagueness but news on the project is coming soon, which I don’t want to spoil. Though building a bonafide community is a colossal effort that involves all sorts of considerations, even at the geopolitical and utility infrastructure levels, I feel that this is the most important sort of project to be launched in years.

Yes, it might not work, but it’s a beautiful vision and I’ll do my part to help with it. In the end, however, matters turn out, you can expect that I’ll also keep you informed.

Finally, with everything that I do, I aim to spark further, deeper conversations and simply help to educate the world about the power of this little, yet powerful place many of us have now called home for years. Now, I’m moving to an even shorter format for some of my work because, honestly, we live in an age where no one has time for anything. So, given that, I’ve been thinking about how to still engage readers and this is one of the ways I aim to do so. As always, feel free to reach out to me via Twitter or Discord@AriastheRaven#0117, and stay tuned for next time! Finally, most of my free time is now being taken up with my newsletter, which is completely free and focused on how the rise of the Metaverse improves things for everyone. Sub here.

Disclaimer: I am an outside consultant, working on a freelance basis for Cryptoland and simply want to share what such a project could be with my audience. I do not aim to garner any investment for the project from my efforts and no one should make any investment decisions based on what I write. All of my content is purely educational. In a day and age where you can never tell who isn’t just shilling their personal portfolios, this has to be said. Always do your own research before you put any financial resources on the line for anything.
